This is my birthday cake, I wanted a simple cake because I lack of time and concentrate on doing a pretty autumn decorations. I picked up some leaves ans pine cones in the garden and here It is ! This is just a chocolate cake with some philadelphia frosting but I liked to do It.
Today I had the pleasure to share a great moment with my son at the Barcella's concert for kids named 'Tournepouce" at La Cartonnerie of Reims. It was magical, the concert was melted with the beautiful story of a little boy calledTournepouce, I loved to watch the eyes of my son in front of this poetic show. Here are some pics I took.
This is a quite beautiful cake considering the few minutes I needed to do It. Though It's finally just cake decorating, It might be a good idea when some friends are coming for tea and you didn't have the time to prepare anything. Well, you just have to buy a simple cake, mine was a "cake breton", typically French, I cut It to make 3 layers and I melted Cream cheese, crusted "Biscuits roses" but you can also use crusted oreos, rose sirup to put between the layers. I put the rest of the cream on the top of the cake and decorated It with roses. And here It Is : a 5 minutes layer cake !
I never had the chance to eat at the well renomed restaurant "Les crayères" but a Japanese member of Its team recently opened a restaurant named "Racine". It's more affordable than "Les Crayères" and the meals are delicious. It's very minimalist and It's composed like an abstract painting.
I thought It would be quite pretty to choose "Alice in wonderland" as a thema for my little girl's birthday. I really had such pleasure to organize It, I made some researches on the internet to find vintage illustrations to use on invitations, labels... I found lovely cake cutters in tea cups shapes. And I used an old birdcage to make a kind of 3d scene of the book by cutting illustrations of Alice and a rabbitt from a vintage book and glue them in different places of the birdcage as if they were moving. Suzie seemed to love, she will appreciate a little bit more when she grow up and see the photos...
It's been a long time I haven't updated my blog, I'm back now with a beautiful couple, Vanessa is from Brazil and Thibault is French. She chose their ceremony to take place in an old barn of the "Pommerieux" and It was really a great idea. During the ceremony, as It's a tradition in the groom's family, they plant a tree, I thought It was a good idea too, very unique and symbolic.
